2023 Dandelion Festival is getting ready to be underway. This year will be started by the Dandelion Pageant May 13, 2023 at the newly renovated The Schoolhouse Hotel. The pageant will be held in the ballroom of the hotel, and doors will open for the public at 4 pm and the event will begin at 4:30 pm. Donations for entry will be for the scholarship fund.
The Main event is planned for the Memorial Day weekend, starting at 3 pm on May 26 th. The Vendors will be open downtown, this would include the local shops and food vendors. Then 5-7 pm Gillispies Flowers and Productions will celebrate their 100th anniversary. The Art show will be starting at 6 pm at the Public Library on Main Street with a wine and cheese reception.
Saturday May 27, will have an array of events for all ages. The 5K race will begin at 7:30 am at the Old Mill Park. The fishing derby will start at 8:00 am at the National Fish Hatchery on Main Street. All other vendors and food trucks will open at 10:00 am. They will have kids activities at Midland Trail Park with inflatables. The Art Exabit continues on Saturday at 11 am to 3 pm. The day will be filled with events from Turkey calling contest, walk like a chicken, live music, car show, dandy legs contest, along with fireworks to end the day of events.
Sunday May 28, 2023, will start with the Art show at the public library on Main Street beginning at 11 am. The Veterans Luncheon will be ay the Paisley Park Pavilion beginning at 12 noon to 2 pm. The Veterans Memorial Ceremony will be on the Main Stage at 2 pm. And the Grand West Virginia Dandelion Festival Parage will begin at 4 pm, with line up on Ingleside Ave.
